Promoting the culture of sports

The franchise, Gujarat Giants, started its journey in 2017. With its slogan, “Garjega Gujarat”, the team roared its way into the finals of the Pro-Kabaddi League in two consecutive years, 2017 and 2018, and was declared runner-up in both. Its boxing team forayed into the Big Bout Boxing League in 2019 under the captainship of top-seeded boxer Amit Panghal. The team, comprising young and fiery boxing champions like Ashish Kumar and Poonam Punia, went on to become the winner of the maiden boxing championship.

In its effort to develop India’s heartland sport, Kho-Kho, and take it to the household of India, Gujarat Giants participated in the Ultimate Kho-Kho League in the 2022. In the same year, Gujarat Giants forayed into both domestic and international cricket leagues with Virender Sehwag as the captain in the Legends League Cricket and World Cup winning Coach Andy Flower in the UAE ILT20, the Gulf Giants cricket team went on to win the inaugural ILT20 Championship. In the year 2023, Gujarat Giants forayed in the inaugural Women’s Premier League, with Australian legend Rachael Haynes as head coach and Indian Legend Mithali Raj as the mentor.

Womens Premier League - Gujarat Giants

Gujarat Giants forayed in the inaugural Women’s Premier League in March 2023, under the mentorship of Indian cricketing Legend Mithali Raj and the successful Nooshin Al Khadeer. The 18 member squad for the season 2 of the league has the likes of Harleen Deol (IN), Laura Wolvaardt (SA), Ashleight Gardner (AUS) and Sneh Rana (IN).

 

Kho Kho – Gujarat Giants

The Gujarat Giants’ Kho Kho team is part of the Ultimate Kho Kho League season which takes place annually. The investment in the league is backed by Adani Sportsline’s mission of building a world class ecosystem that promotes home-grown sports and develops talent enabling India to become a leading sports nation. The Gujarat Giants Kho Kho team emerged as the champions of Ultimate Kho Kho League Season 2.

UAE's International League T20

The Adani Group is one of the 6 franchise owners in the UAE’s International League T20 which takes place between Jan-Feb every year.

Licensed by Emirates Cricket Board, the UAE’s International League T20 is an annual event that will feature six teams competing in a 34-match event. Team Gulf Giants was crowned champions in the inaugural season of the league. The squad boasts of top players from the cricket playing countries across the world.

The league provides a platform and exposure to upcoming young cricketers from the UAE. This the first major move overseas by the Adani Sportsline to connect and engage with global cricketing fans. Gulf Giants, our team in International League T20, qualified for the playoffs for the second consecutive season.

 

Kabaddi – Gujarat Giants

With its slogan, “Garjega Gujarat”, the team roared its way into the finals of the Pro-Kabaddi League in two consecutive years, 2017 and 2018, and was declared runner-up in both. Gujarat Giants ended their season 5 campaign with a 4th spot in the league. Gujarat Giants appointed Title winning coach Ram Mehar as head coach for the 9th edition of Pro Kabaddi League. The Gujarat Giants Kabaddi team qualified for the playoffs after a strong showing in the league stages.
